Sorry, but all being said, it's still a Golf, which personally have always found dull and grossly overpriced. There are a miriad of cars that offer better value, and in the premium bracket.

Great review Tish. No a fan of the black and silver rims most manufacturers are putting on gheir models these days lets hope its just a fad. Otherwise the R model is an awesome car.

Can you do a review on the Audi Q3 please? torn between the Audi A3 Sedan or the Audi Q3 as a second car after my first car as a young driver ❤️ also is it comfortable driving?

Good review tish they keep building to many golf r models sadly effects the value of other R models I currently still have my mk7 golf r fully loaded spec It's currently having a stage 3 build and tuning should make around 540bhp once its been mapped wasn't gunna do any mods to it but decided to just keep it now and enjoy it shame they don't hold money good tho x

Big mistake not coming with a diesel engine as they are great for towing the petrols aren't up to it

Good to see the estate back. Enough to make me think hmmm. Still wish there were more than three colours though and when we get sustainable fuels they can chuck out the hairdryer and install a 4.0 VR6 with 400hp 😁

Proves diesel engines are proven, tried and tested. I rather drive this CX60 diesel than an EV. EV’s have a very long way to go.

7.5 R estate owner and i was wondering wether to get the 8.5 but I hate those stick on iPad style infotainment screens, it’s not a dash it’s a computer terminal (which of course it is) in my humble opinion they look horrible. There is no doubt that this will be a great machine to drive but the opportunities to use it to its full potential would be extremely rare. Black edition looks awesome but not sure if it will be available in the estate version. Leather would be a necessary upgrade as those bus seat pattern cloth seats are absolutely dreadful.

I really like this mid cycle update, I like the black pack car and estate but I think the new two tone wheels on the standard car really set it off.

The Golf R 8.5 also matches the power output of the Golf R 8 20th Anniversary Edition which you reviewed in 2022.

Reliable? VW? Er, I think NOT. Civic Type-R would run rings round this aged dog.

Does it remember if you turn off the assist settings like lane keeping or traffic sign recognition? I've read it resets every time you start the car
